Borderlands 3 - Maurice the Saurian

Borderlands 3 is hosting a new weekly challenge series. Updating on Thursdays, Maurice's Community Carnage Challenges will see the players do the Saurian's bidding to secure rewards for everyone.

After a bombastic second anniversary celebration, Borderlands 3 is bringing a new set of challenges to the fore. Players who decide to take part in the new collective challenges will be able to unlock cosmetic rewards for everyone.

Help Maurice - unlock cosmetics

Each Vault Hunter is invited to take up arms (event those that struggle and run away) to aid Maurice the Saurian in his research of all the strange things related to humankind. Maurice's Community Carnage Challenges is a set of tasks every player can lend a helping hand to and, in doing so, unlock a new, wildlife-themed batch of cosmetic Vault Hunter Heads for the entire community.

There will be a total of four community challenge events and the first will kick off on October 14, at 16:00 GMT (9:00 AM PT). After that, the new events will keep unlocking each following Thursday.

Maurice's Community Carnage Challenges doesn't require the players to take any special quests from NPCs. They just need to follow the objectives presented each week. Everyone who wants to follow the community's progress can do so via this handy website by Borderlands Creator Team member MentalMars.

One ShiFT code that grants a new Vault Hunter Head reward will be shared once one of Maurice's Community Carnage Challenges gets successfully completed. You can redeem the revealed SHiFT codes here on Borderlands.com, on the Gearbox SHiFT site, or via the in-game Social menu in Borderlands 3.

Gearbox Borderlands 3 - Captain Traunt

Maurice's Community Carnage Challenge number one - Traunt's Bloodied Bloodline

First off, Maurice needs some of Traunt Family DNA. No, you may not know what for. Starting on October 14 at 16:00 GMT, this challenge will require the players to kill a member of the Traunt Family a collective total of 500,000 times.

Where to find the Traunts in Borderlands 3:

  • Captain Traunt - on Athenas
  • General Traunt - on Nekrotafeyo
  • Captain Haunt - in Heck (only available while the Bloody Harvest event is activated via the main menu.)
