Teatro La Fenice to Present Rarely Performed ‘Engelberta’

On Oct. 14, Albinoni’s “Engelberta” will premiere at the Teatro Malibran.

The production will mark the first modern-day production of the work and will be part of the 2020-21 season for the Teatro La Fenice.

The project will be produced in collaboration with the Conservatorio Benedetto Marcello di Venezia and was thought for the school, family, and new generation audiences.

Francesco Erle conducts the production by Francesco Bellotto with set design by Alessia Colosso, costumes by Carlos Tieppo, and lighting by Fabio Barettin.

The new production will star Miranda Ying Quan as Lodovicoii, Ligia Ishitani and Miao Tang alternating the role of Engelberta, Sara Fogagnolo and Silvia Porcellini sharing the role of Metilde, Yuxiang Liu as Bonoso, Yihao Duan and Kexin Jia as Arrigo, Ilaria Ospici and Marcus Vinicius Bezerra Dias as Ernesto, and Xiangbo Zhang and Yangchun Ou as Ottone.

“Engelberta” will be presented three times through Oct. 16, 2021.
