Anyone who has had a Netflix account and loads of time on their hands (which lets face it, is most of the world) has heard of Bridgerton. It quickly became Netflix’s biggest hit, with nearly 82 million households watching it within the first month of its release in 2020. This steamy regency era love story has stolen the hearts and minds of nearly everyone who has watched it.

I am none other than half of those viewings. Okay, that might be a bit of a stretch, but I have definitely binged this show way too many times. I can’t help it! I burn for character development. As an aspiring author who generally focuses on the royal eras of England, the dynamics of high society life peaks my interest. I live for the drama between Anthony Bridgerton and his mother, who merely wants the best for her eldest son who can be seen galavanting about with a seductive opera singer throughout the whole season.

Eloise Bridgerton can speak for all of us that were assigned female at birth, if we had been born a man we would have countless more opportunities than we do now. Eloise brings a sense of rebellion to the show and honestly, who doesn’t want to be the spunky, rebellious side character?

Shonda Rhimes, the creator and producer of countless jaw dropping shows like Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal, produced Bridgerton as a part of her massive Netflix deal, promising some excellent future productions. The only one I am concerned about right now is none other than Bridgerton Season 2.

Season 2 is set to release on Netflix accounts all over the world sometime in 2022, which is agonizingly far, for some of the die hard fans. As someone who can not wait for the next season, I have put together a bit of a list of what I hope to see in the next Season.

First off- Baby Simon! Or whatever Daphne and Simon decide to name their first child, which will likely start with an A (family tradition). I can’t be the only one who wants to see more of Dad Simon. I mean, come on! He knows how to do Origami!

Secondly, I would love to find out the fate of the Featherington estate. Who will be taking over as the head of the house now that Lord Featherington kicked the bucket? What will the fate of our dearest Penelope be, and for that matter what of Lady Whistledown?

It’s safe to say that Bridgerton Season 2 will be amazing and will bring back many of the lovable characters as well as the instrumental pop songs that fit oh so well into every scene. I simply can not wait for the next season. It can not come soon enough.
