A new batch of DokeV gameplay footage shown to Korean media has revealed some new gameplay footage for Pearl Abyss' upcoming action-adventure game.
DokeV has been in development for a little while now, but it most recently picked up steam in the West when it was featured as one of the many trailers shown during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2021. The game immediately drew comparisons to Pokemon. (Hopefully, it will be free of some of the annoyances that plagued the franchise.)
Sadly, we haven't heard much about the game since then save for an announcement that it was shifting genres from MMO to an action-adventure game. Fortunately, we got another peek into the world of DokeV thanks to a feature on the game from Korean media.
DokeV Gameplay Footage Shows Spider-Man Swinging , Jetskis, and More
The new DokeV gameplay footage (highlighted on Reddit) largely focuses on a player character running around the open-world starting at 5:14, free of any enemies or other NPCs. While that's somewhat disappointing, we did get to see a handful of movement abilities and items that don't appear to have been revealed in Western media just yet.
The footage shows the player character using a variety of movement abilities. These include a jetski and the ability to swing in the air with an energy rope that's akin to the iconic swinging from the Spider-Man games -- a franchise which is getting a new game of its own in 2023.
Another piece of equipment that was shown off at length is a bazooka that fires missiles propelled by water. These missiles explored in a splash of water and can knock world objects around; presumably, they can also be used to fight the game's enemies.
These neat little tidbits of information were pretty cool; sadly, there wasn't much more in the way of substantial details in terms of footage. Hopefully, we'll be able to play DokeV sooner rather than later and get to experience the fun firsthand. You can learn more about DokeV by checking out its official website.
