No matter what happens on the ice, the Vegas Golden Knights are winners of the NHL’s opening night after an amazing pregame duel with a virtual Kraken.

Even with all the projections that we can make about the NHL and the Vegas Golden Knights this season, one thing will remain wholly true: The team undeniably won the league’s opening night on Tuesday — and it had literally nothing to do with the play on the ice.

Taking on the newest franchise in the league, the Seattle Kraken, the Golden Knights decided to welcome the expansion team to the NHL with one of the wildest pregame shows you’re ever going to see.

Specifically, they brought a knight out on skates and had him battle ferociously with a virtual Kraken wreaking havoc on the ice:

Vegas is certainly a great place to catch a show, even if you’re at a hockey game.

The Vegas Golden Knights got the NHL season going with a pregame show for the ages but also started hot themselves.

Not only did the Golden Knights steal the show around the league by unleashing a virtual Kraken in the arena during the first game of the regular season, but Vegas made sure to unkindly welcome Seattle to the NHL when the puck dropped as well.

With first period goals from Jonathan Marchessault and Max Pacioretty, Vegas jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead over the Kraken to set the tone for the season-opener and, as fans are hoping, the 2021 season.

But even then, this team could win the Stanley Cup and it still might not be as jaw-dropping as a heartstopping duel with a virtual Kraken.

Next. Seattle Kraken jerseys already a huge hit with NHL fans. dark
