WWE’s 2021 releases has reportedly led to some of the planned DLC for WWE 2K22 needing to be cancelled. 2K is developing the new iteration of the game after skipping last year, and a new report suggests that WWE’s releases over the summer led to their DLC plans being “blown up.”

According to Sports Gamers Online, at least four released superstars from August 6th were part of planned DLC and that Bronson Reed was expected to be one of those DLC members.

The releases reportedly led to 2K and Visual Concepts, the development team, “scrambling” for DLC plans with at least two DLC packages being scrapped. 2K is rumored (not confirmed) to be considering a “service” of some kind for roster updates instead of traditional DLC, with the potential plan to be releasing new stars as they are completed. Again, this is not confirmed at this time and is just a rumor. One source close to the team simply told the site, “we are working on things” regarding DLC for the game.

WWE 2K22 is set to release early next year.
