RSL International Round-Up

Ahead of this week’s final deciding match for the Rocky Mountain Cup, goalkeeper David Ochoa and midfielder Albert Rusnak are set to return to the fold following international duty with their respective countries.

Rusnak and Slovakia, once again, continued their hopes for FIFA World Cup qualification, competing in Group H of UEFA Qualification against Croatia and Russia. However, after a loss to Russia and a 2-2 draw with Croatia, Slovakia was officially eliminated from contention form next summer’s tournament in Qatar.

Rusnak started both matches on the bench and came on as a substitute in the 64th minute against Russia, but did not appear against Croatia.

Meanwhile, with the U21 Mexico National Team, Ochoa got wins over Romania and Sweden.

Ochoa started in goal against Romania, leading the team to a 3-1 win, with the only goal scored on the young goalkeeper coming as a result of an own goal. Additionally Mexico defeated Sweden 2-0, but Ochoa did not play.

This was Ochoa’s first appearance with Mexico since declaring his intention to play with the “El Tri” at the international level.
