Local Heavy Metal Band Releases Ambitious New Video

Cleveland-based metal quintet Alternate Reality has created a video for its song “Project Wormhole” that includes everything but the kitchen sink. Filmed in the woods, on the beach and on Public Square in downtown Cleveland, it features the usual shots of the band playing — but much much more. There are ancient Egyptians, Vikings, Roman gladiators, Civil War re-enactors, dinosaurs and even a simulation of the Lincoln assassination — with a different outcome. It even features a cameo by longtime host of WJCU program Metal on Metal, Bill Peters. It culminates with more than 100 band friends and fans staging a zombie attack on Public Square.

It took five years (!) to film the five-minute video, assembling the talents of more than 150 performers and members of the Ohio haunted house and film communities and several re-enactment groups. The video was directed, edited and produced by Alternate Reality frontman Steve Delchin.
