Carnival Elation has officially set sail from Port Canaveral, marking the third Carnival ship to resume sailings from the port, and the 13th in the fleet overall to return to cruising.
Elation is also the first vessel in Carnival’s Fantasy-class to restart revenue operations after the industry shutdown. The other three Fantasy-class vessels still in the fleet, but not yet back to service, are Carnival Ecstasy, Sensation, and Paradise.
Today’s sailing marks the beginning of a season of four and five-night voyages to the Bahamas and the eastern Caribbean. Monday’s five-night sailing includes two sea days and stops in Nassau and Amber Cove.
Other stops throughout the season on these four and five-night voyages will include Bimini and Princess Cays, which are also in the Bahamas.

On December 20, Carnival Elation will operate a longer six-night voyage over Christmas, with stops in Amber Cove, Grand Turk, and Princess Cays. Elation is scheduled to be one of the first ships returning to Grand Turk since early 2020, pending restart conversations between the island and Carnival officials.
Elation was built at the Helsinki New Shipyard in Finland, and debuted in 1998. She is just over 70,000 gross tons, and can hold 2,190 passengers at double occupancy.
In 2017, the vessel underwent a massive makeover which included major cabin upgrades, and the addition of the WaterWorks aqua park, Guy’s Burger Joint, RedFrog Rum Bar, BlueIguana Cantina, and a reimagined and renamed club for kids called Camp Ocean. The renovations also included the addition of 38 new cabins.
Carnival Elation is Carnival’s second vessel to resume sailings this month, following Carnival Freedom out of Miami on October 9. In November, Carnival Legend and Carnival Valor will resume operations.
