WATCH: Trailer released for locally-filmed movie ‘Scream 5’
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Get ready to scream at a theater near you! The trailer for locally-shot “Scream 5” was released on Tuesday ahead of its premiere early next year.

The feature film, which went under the name “Parkside” during production, was shot in Wilmington last year. You can see some familiar sights within the trailer including the riverwalk in downtown Wilmington.
This new installment of the ‘Scream’ horror franchise follows a woman returning to her hometown to try to find out who has been committing a series of vicious crimes. Stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette reprised their roles from the previous films.
The movie is set to hit theaters on January 14, 2022.
