Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale's Meena Jutla will worry that she has been caught in her plan to murder Victoria Barton next week, with her fear potentially set to lead to another tragedy.

Following Meena's (Paige Sandhu) cruel murder of Leanna Cavanagh earlier this year, it has been clear that Meena has no boundaries when it comes to getting her own way and she has recently been manipulating boyfriend David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) in order to keep him under her control.

However, Meena is about to discover that David's true feelings lie with Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) and the revelation will lead to an explosive series of events during next week's Super Soap Week as Meena seeks revenge.

As the adventure survival challenge gets under way, disaster will strike when several characters – including Victoria and David – fall into some dangerous rapids and are forced to battle for their lives.

After calculating Meena gets involved, viewers will see her holding Victoria's lifeless body under the water – but somebody else is watching the incident from afar.

Determined to find out exactly what the person has seen, and worried that she's been compromised, Meena follows the mystery character into the imposing maize maze that has been constructed.

With only one thing on her mind, Meena is ready to kill whoever gets in her way and there might be no way out for her potential victim...

Actress Paige Sandhu, who plays Meena, has opened up to Digital Spy and other media about Meena's role in the dramatic week, teasing that we can expect some maze-based stunts.

"My character is less involved in the stunts, especially during the first part of Super Soap Week," she said. "She's more observing everything, so I wasn't heavily involved. I get involved in stunts later on when we're in the maze...

"I didn't do any preparation for stunts because I didn't really know what I was going to be doing in terms of that."

The actress also explained why Meena is so obsessed with keeping hold of David, despite his obvious feelings for Victoria, and she admitted that she found it hard to understand her character's motivations at first.

"The main preparation that I did is I didn't really understand why Meena was so gung-ho after David even after everything that's happened," she said. "He clearly doesn't want her anymore, so my preparation was trying to figure out why she didn't just sack him off!

"I was getting into that obsessive mindset and that possessiveness. She's thinking: 'I need to have you, even if you don't want me, you really do want me'. So that was the main thing that I was working on."

Emmerdale airs these scenes in the week commencing Monday, October 18 on ITV.
