Training camp and the preseason can be an exciting time for a young player who is motivated and looking to come in and earn himself a roster spot in hopes of making an immediate impact for his team.
In the case of New York Rangers prospect
Vitali Kravtsov, he has now endured multiple Rangers training camps and appears to be no closer to landing himself a permanent roster spot in the Big Apple.
Kravtsov, the Rangers' 1st round pick (9th overall) in 2018, has suited up in just 20 regular season NHL games in his young career, and has been leapfrogged on the depth chart by several other prospects, which has led to a high level of frustration for the 21-year-old.
On Tuesday, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported that the Rangers have given the Kravtsov camp the green light to pursue an opportunity with another team by granting the young Russian permission to speak with other clubs who may have a roster spot available for him in the NHL.

It is the hope of Kravtsov and the Rangers that once a suitable destination is selected, that the two sides will be able to strike a trade for the rookie forward.
Kravtsov was cut from the opening night roster last week, despite some rumours that he could make the team this season.
He has since refused to report to the AHL will be suspended as a result, per Larry Brooks of the New York Post.
