Roster Moves: Jaguars sign RB Whyte Jr., OL Hocker and WR Imatorbhebhe to practice squad

JACKSONVILLE –The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed RB Kerrith Whyte Jr., OL Jared Hocker and WR Josh Imatorbhebhe to the practice squad, the club announced today. In addition, the team released OL Austen Pleasants, RB Wendell Smallwood and WR Devin Smith from the practice squad. 

Whyte has played three seasons in the NFL after being drafted in the seventh round (222nd overall) of the 2019 draft by Chicago. In 2020, he signed with Pittsburgh, where he played in six games and recorded 122 rushing yards on 24 attempts and one reception for 9 yards. He has also spent time with Detroit in 2019 and Buffalo in 2020. The Loxahatchee, Fla. native attended Florida Atlantic University where he rushed for 1,358 yards and 11 touchdowns along with 22 receptions for 227 yards and two touchdowns. He also recorded 2,115 return yards and two touchdowns. 

Hocker originally signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in 2021 and signed to the Los Angeles Rams practice squad on Sept. 2, 2021. Collegiately, he spent four years at Texas A&M. In 2020, he started all 10 games for the Aggies, logging 667 snaps on offense. Originally from North Richland, Texas, Hocker attended Birdville High School and was named to the PrepStar All-Southeast Region Team.

Imatorbhebhe originally signed with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent following the 2021 draft and spent the majority of training camp in Jacksonville.
