A concert titled “Top of Oklahoma Jamboree” was held on Oct. 9 in Blackwell at Morgan Field and featured local artists from the surrounding area as well a headline artist Wade Bowen.

In addition to Bowen, the concert featured Stillwater based bands 51 Junction and the Trent Fletcher Band, as well as Ponca City singer/songwriter Cassy Kendrick as the opening act.

The concert was to originally coincide with homecoming in Blackwell, but soon became much larger event as word of mouth spread.

Outside the concert arena, there were a collection of food trucks, popup vendors and several booster clubs.

The final tally for attendance at the event was around 1,500, including staff and volunteers.

Concert organizer Dustin Bringham hopes that the Top of Oklahoma Jamboree can become an annual event held in October in Blackwell.
