It has been 11 days since the last PS5 restock took place in the U.S. and it does not seem like things will be improving any time soon.
This is the longest dry spell for the console since it first launched all the way back in November 2020.
Console trackers are theorizing that the latest shortage can be attributed to outlets stockpiling units, in anticipation of the holiday period and Black Friday sales.
While the PS5 restock situation is admittedly bleak at the moment, it still helps to be prepared in case there are any surprise drops. With that being said, here is the latest information for every major retailer across the country.
GameStop PS5 Restock
GameStop does not have the PS5 in stock right now, but it will be getting new Xbox units in later today (Tuesday, October 12). This has been verified by reliable industry analyst Matt Swider.
The Halo Infinite edition of Microsoft's console will be released at 11 a.m. ET and will ship with a matching controller.
To be eligible for this particular sale, you will need to register for GameStop's "Power Up Rewards Pro" loyalty scheme. A membership can be purchased for an annual fee of $14.99 on the merchant's website.

Best Buy PS5 Restock
The most recent PS5 restock took place at Best Buy on Friday, October 1.
Not only has there been an absence of drops from the retailer since (other than a small sale for premium Totaltech members) but there have not been any PlayStation units available elsewhere in the U.S either.
Generally speaking, most outlets tend to coordinate their restocks on a fortnightly basis. As such, there is a chance that Best Buy will release new units on Friday, October 15 but this is far from guaranteed.

Walmart PS5 Restock
There has not been an official PS5 restock at Walmart since September 24.
While the merchant's own supplies have been depleted, you will still be able to find a few units being traded independently on the website. However, it is important to note that these items are listed by third-party scalpers (looking to turn a profit) and so are very expensive.
For context, the recommended manufacturer's price for a disc edition PlayStation 5 is $499, but there are some listed at Walmart for over $900.
Rather than purchasing one of these overpriced units, we would advise that you wait for the next official Walmart restock. The outlet typically coordinates its drops every other Thursday at 3 p.m. ET, so you should keep an eye on its website closer to the afternoon of October 14.

Newegg PS5 Restock
There are no PS5 bundles featured in today's Newegg Shuffle. It is always worth checking these daily lottery draws to see if there are any next-gen consoles up for grabs, as there can be from time to time.
Otherwise, you can browse the rest of Newegg's website to see if any second-hand PS5s are listed. Just be aware that, if you do happen to find one, it will likely be sold by a scalper for an extortionate cost. For instance, there is currently a standalone unit being traded on the website for $990.

Amazon PS5 Restock
You cannot add a PS5 to your Amazon basket at the time of writing.
Again, you might be able to track down a few preowned units on the marketplace, but these will be traded by independent resellers for jacked up prices.

Sony's official storefront has not opened its virtual queue since Tuesday, September 28.
There has been no indication of when the next PS Direct restock is expected to occur, but we usually find out a few days in advance as the retailer sends out email notifications to random customers.

Sam's Club PS5 Restock
There are no PS5s in stock at Sam's Club but, when we published our last restock update, it was at least possible to get an Xbox Series S.
Unfortunately, this bundle has now sold out meaning that there are no longer any next-gen consoles available from the retailer.
