RIAA: Chris Brown Ties Bruno Mars As Second Most-Certified Male Singer in Digital Music History

Published: Monday 11th Oct 2021 by Rashad

Chris Brown is the owner of a slew of new certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Boasting 26 new or upgraded plaques for hits spanning all the way from his self-titled debut album to his most recent chart-topper, 2019’s ‘Indigo,’ the update pushed the GRAMMY winner’s cumulative certified career sales total so high he is now the highest certified male R&B singer of the digital age.

Details inside:

On October 1, the RIAA took to press to reveal nearly 30 upgraded certifications for Brown – a feat that pushed his certified career digital sales to 90.5 million in the United States alone.  What’s more, thanks to tunes like the now-8x Platinum ‘No Guidance,’ Brown not only tied his previous best – the 8x Platinum ‘Look at Me Now’ – but he also stands neck and neck with Bruno Mars as the second highest certified male vocalist of the digital age.  Only Justin Bieber has more.
