Varlamov just started skating again Monday so it's unlikely that he'll start Thursday's game against Carolina after missing the entire preseason. He shouldn't miss an extended period of time but Ilya Sorokin will handle most of the goaltending duties while he's gone. The 33-year-old posted an outstanding 2.04 GAA and .929 save percentage in 36 games last season.
