LAKEWOOD, Wash. — The Gonzaga women's golf team is in fifth place following the first two rounds of the Pat Lesser-Harbottle SeattleU Invitational at the Tacoma Country and Golf Club.
The Bulldogs are 29-over (605) entering the third and final round. GU was 17-over (305) in the first round and 12-over (300) in the second. The Zags' 113 pars made as a team were the second-most in the 20-team field.
Mary Scott Wolfe's 29 pars were the most in the 111-golfer field. She made 15 pars in Round 1, before 14 in Round 2. The sophomore is tied for ninth at four-over (148). She opened the tournament with a 73 (+1) in the first round and totaled a 75 (+3) in Round 2.
Chaewon Beck is tied for 14th at five-over (149). She was four-over (76) in the first round but made four birdies in Round 2 and carded a 73 (+1).
Cassie Kim and
Quynn Duong are both tied for 49th at 11-over (155). Kim's first round of 77 (+5) featured 14 pars. Duong was four-over (76) in Round 2.
Ivanna Montemayor is tied for 101st at 21-over (165).
The hosts, Seattle University, leads the team leaderboard at six-over (582). The Redhawks were led by Rivekka Jumagulova and Shayna Lu, who are first and second in the event at one-under (143) and even-par (144). Santa Clara is second at 15-over (591).
