‘Guess not every Bay Area team’s season can end in a boat parade’: Twitter reacts to Rays’ loss

Tampa Bay’s season ended with a division series loss to Boston. But as we’ve seen before, heartbreak can precede triumph.

A season in which the Rays set a franchise record with 100 victories and won the American League East ended all too abruptly when they were eliminated by the Red Sox in the American League Division Series.

Boston clinched the best-of-five series with a 6-5 walkoff win in Game 4 Monday night at Fenway Park.

As a result, a baseball-themed boat parade will have to wait until at least next season. But as the Lightning showed a few seasons ago, heartbreak can sometimes precede triumph.
