Report: Sixers star Ben Simmons has made his return to Philadelphia

Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

The ongoing saga between All-Star Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers has taken a ton of twists and turns as they continue to move forward with their preparation for the 2021-22 season. The Sixers are looking to accommodate his trade request, but they also would like to have him report to the team.

After missing all of training camp and now three preseason games, the 25-year old 3-time All-Star has finally made his return to Philadelphia after being in Los Angeles all this time.

As the Sixers were in the middle of their third preseason game with the Brooklyn Nets, Simmons made his return to the city and he underwent a COVID-19 test per NBA protocols. That means that the embattled star is probably ready to return to the team this week.

Philadelphia will not play again until Friday when they take on the Detroit Pistons on the road to finish up the preseason so it will be interesting to see if Simmons suits up for that game, but the fact that he is now in Philadelphia makes for some more interesting storylines as the week continues.
