TEXAS COUNTY—A Missouri man died in an accident just before 1:30p.m. Monday in Texas County, Missouri.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 1999 Ford Taurus driven by Thomas A. Franklin, 25, Houston, Mo., was southbound on MO 17 eight miles north of Summersville.
The driver failed to negotiate a curve. The car traveled off the road, struck a fence, overturned and the occupants were ejected.
A passenger Jason M. McGrath, 47, Houston, Mo. was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Evans Funeral Home. EMS transported Franklin to Cox South in Springfield and a second passenger passenger Daniel E. Ketchum, 21, Houston, Mo., to the Houston County Hospital. They were not wearing a seat belts, according to the MSHP.
