For 19 seasons and counting, NCIS fans know that Gibbs (Mark Harmon) is the one who calls the shots. As it turns out, newcomer Park (Gary Cole) is taking a little longer to catch on but maybe the FBI special agent is now aware of how Gibbs operates after his unexpected getaway with LeMere (Jason Wiles).

In the midst of figuring out who was paying LeMere to kill people, Gibbs and Park were following his directions to the location of his first victim. Unsurprisingly, he tried his best to get under Gibbs’ skin and though, he riled him up, it wasn’t enough for the suspended special agent in charge to lash out at him. That said, Park knew it was only a matter of time before the two would come to physical blows and so, he got ahead of the tense situation … or at least he thought he was.

While making a pit stop to grab food and coffee, Park shared his hunch that LeMere was “up to something” but couldn’t figure out what. Gibbs then asked him what he wanted to do. “Let’s call this off. Just turn around and go home,” Park said. “Your call. Do what you gotta do,” Gibbs replied.

Upon hearing Gibbs seemingly give his approval to call off the search, Park stepped away to let the team know that they were headed back. But Gibbs had different plans. Watch what he does next in the clip above.

Folks tuning in at home instantly lost it when Park heard the sound of screeching tires as he was left behind in the dust and seeing it again on Instagram made it even funnier. “When he took and left him, I was rolling 🤣,” one person wrote. “Way to go Gibs!!!!” another added. “Fantastic! ❤️🔥👏,” a different fan said. “😂😂😂😂,” a follower commented.

Over on Twitter, the NCIS fandom was also in hysterics and some people even claimed they knew what Gibbs was about to do.

“New dude was the only one who didn’t see this coming,” a fan tweeted. “Never turn your back on Leroy Jethro Gibbs LOL,” a different viewer wrote. “Parker don't know who he is dealing with. There is power in silence,” someone else quipped. “'Do what you gotta do' ... and so will I,” another said. “Gibbs is the one holding the keys & says it's your call & Mr. FBI goes to make a phone call, Gibbs drives away... 🤭,” a fan added.

In the end, Gibbs had a difficult time handling LeMere on his own without a buffer. But despite LeMere’s greatest efforts to trick Gibbs, he and the rest of the team got closer to solving the latest case. Now, he’s headed off to Alaska tonight with McGee (Sean Murray) and something tells us there’s be more surprises in store.
