The Long Island Nets 2021-22 roster is starting to take shape.

On Monday, the Brooklyn Nets announced the signings of Jordan Bowden and Brandon Rachal. Both guards played on the Nets’ Summer League team in Vegas earlier this year.

The Nets had space to sign Bowden and Rachal after waiving Bryce Brown and Josh Gray, who were both signed yesterday. Bowden and Rachal will also likely be waived as soon as Tuesday. All four are then expected to be assigned to play for the Long Island Nets.

Bowden already has one year of experience with the Nets’ backup squad, playing with Long Island last year in the G League “bubble.” The 6’5” Tennessee product averaged 7.8 points and 2.9 rebounds per contest. On March 4, Bowden recorded career highs of 20 points (7-of-12 FG, 4-of-8 3FG) and 11 rebounds for the first double-double of his G League career.

Bowden also played in three games during Summer League averaging 9.0 points and 2.3 rebounds while leading the Nets Las Vegas entry with a 94.6 offensive rating.

The Brooklyn Nets signed Rachal after he went undrafted in the 2021 NBA Draft. He played limited minutes in Summer League not scoring. Rachal averaged 15.0 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 31.6 minutes per game during his senior season at Tulsa. Both Bowden and Rachal are known as solid defenders.

The Long Island Nets will open their season in Delaware against the Blue Coats on November 6, and host the Capital City Go-Go in their first home game on November 10.
