Update, October 12, 4:48 PM:
The View Fire, off of View Drive and Digger Pine Road, southwest of Cottonwood in Tehama County, is now fully contained after burning 24 acres, according to CAL FIRE.
The fire began on Monday, October 11, and quickly grew to around 20 acres.
By Monday night, CAL FIRE officials mapped the fire at 24 acres with 50% containment and stopped forward progress.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Original Report, October 11, 8 PM:
CAL FIRE crews are working to contain a vegetation fire off of View Drive and Digger Pine Road, southwest of Cottonwood, in Tehama County.
According to CAL FIRE Tehama Glenn Unit (TGU) officials, as of 8 p.m. on Monday night, the View Fire has been mapped at 24 acres with 50% containment.
Evacuations have been issued due to the fire, however, previous orders have all been reduced to warnings. CAL FIRE TGU says Westview Way, Sheila Road to north Pinewood Road, Joe Dog Lane to Jefford Lane, and Poppy Lane are under an evacuation warning.
CAL FIRE confirms one structure was damaged from the View Fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
