Oh god. I really hope this isn’t true. If they get this wrong, then I do feel the damage to the show would be incomprehensible. I’ve been a defender of the state of EE, as of late, but if they get a subject as serious as this wrong, then I fear how they would be able to claw back from the bad reputation it would acquire the show with.

Mind you, I’ve just read the spoilers, and it doesn’t really sound like a terror plot if this is what to unfold at Christmas. No doubt it links with the Gray serial killer story, and he results to blowing up his children and Whitney, which is still horrendous, however doesn’t classify as a terrorist attack, so shame on media sources for using that word so loosely. Hollyoaks had a bomb plot years ago with Claire Devine, yet no one refers to her as a terrorist, so it sounds like something it’s not.

Wonder if the bomb actually goes off or they get to it before it goes off I suppose with it being Christmas it will cause destruction, I suppose if they are going down the terrorist route you have to go the full hog or why bother doing it. I did hear a few weeks ago someone saying they saw EastEnders blowing buildings up at Elstree set but never gave took much notice as I thought it was a load of rubbish but looks like they could of been right all along I just can’t remember where I saw it mentioned.

... and this has been leaked on the day the Metro publish an article questioning the criticism levelled at the EastEnders production teams above other soaps too. 'Plots' like this are exactly why. Not an ounce of aftermath will be seen.

I don’t think thats fair, other soaps fail with aftermaths as well, I don’t see why Eastenders constantly gets trashed before we even know any proper details, let alone have seen the episode

Are you stating that us lot on the forum are to blame for this leak? Maybe this is EE’s way of getting back at us, after thinking Sen and Oates come into wide criticism on this forum, and they hope news of this story, will send us all into meltdown and the forum into overdrive 😂.

I won't jump the gun and say it's a terrorist attack, a bomb doesn't necessarily mean terrorism, but one thing I will say is that if it is a terrorist storyline, then this is about as low as Eastenders can go. This is not the way to win back your viewers.

Honestly, I have lost all hope for this show. The people in charge don't seem to understand that no matter how many stupid over the top stunts they do, it's not going to bring people back. They are completely deluded at this point.

For clarification for people on here - I don’t think it’s a terrorist attack, as the term has been loosely used by the authors of the article, but I wouldn’t expect much less from this newspaper.

By the sounds of it, it’s a bomb story that will probably be caused by one of the characters, such as Gray who has form for wanting to blow his family up, and makes sense seeing as his story is supposed to climax at Christmas as well. Therefore, to me it’s clear he may get found out and tries to blow himself up, with his kids, similarly to how the Richard Hillman story panned out in Corrie all those years ago. Whilst this is still disgusting, it doesn’t fit the definition of a terror attack, otherwise all characters who cause stunts in soap such as Janine causing the recent fire, would be labelled as terrorists.

Could the same then be said for Emmerdale who are doing 4 big stunts in one week? Or Corrie who are also doing multiple stunts in 1 week?

Yes. They are all as guilty as each other for this kind of thing. They keep trying to make soaps something they never were.

Good grief, just when you think it couldn't sink any lower.

EastEnders is entering Brookside levels of absurdity and irrelevance now. Like a dying animal you just wish someone would put out of its misery.

It had literally no aftermath of the fire last month.

The episode and aftermath will go like this:

    Saturday 25 December
Walford is a ticking timebomb with secrets to unravel. Little do the residents know that the biggest bomb of them all is ticking and ticking... Lives will never be the same again.

    Sunday 26 December
Billy is infuriated with Honey and Jay after he finds out Suki has stolen his mystic lamp from the market. Meanwhile, Dotty is horrified when her mum steals more takings for the club for drugs. Meanwhile, Rainie bangs on about baby Abi for no apparent reason.

And Eastenders isn’t the only soap that fails with aftermaths, but that’s besides the point, it’s being slagged off before we know any details at all really

No but it does aftermaths the worst. I've watched all four soaps over the years, and the recent fire has had the worst aftermath I've ever seen. I'll watch corrie and ED next week and will be happy to be proved wrong by either, or.

A terrorist attack is so HUGE for EE to pull off, and I just don't think the show is in a position to do this well considering what we've recently seen. Again, happy to be proved wrong.

A terrorist bomb attack is in such poor taste that I think Jon Sen might just do it.

In fact, it might even be the storyline that finally gets EastEnders cancelled and that's not an exaggeration. It'll make the baby swap controversy look like a walk in the park.

I didn't say it was fact. I clearly even said in the last line of my last comment, 'I dont think' meaning it is my opinion.

I feel at this point you just seem to follow me around on this forum, baiting whatever comment I make.
