New York Comic Con: ‘Animaniacs’ Drops Season Two Teaser Which Parodies ‘Thundercats’

’80s Cats are back! Hulu dropped the teaser of the second season of Animaniacs for New York Comic Con on Sunday, via Deadline. The new teaser promises that the Animaniacs trio will lean into the popular 80s decade. The new season is set to premiere on November 5.

The teaser follows a similar style to the Thundercats intro with Yakko, Wakko, and Dot transforming into beefed-up versions of themselves as the ’80s Cats. According to Deadline, the Animaniacs are set to satirize more classic ’80s cartoons including G.I. Joe and Transformers.

Season two of Animaniacs will consist of 13 episodes, along with a third season which was confirmed at Hulu’s TCA presentation in February.

Animaniacs follows Yakko, Wakko, and Dot as they wreak havoc and mayhem in the lives of everyone they meet. Season two will see the trio return with big laughs and the occasional takedown of authority figures who need huge ego checks. Pinky and the Brain will also return as they quest for world domination.

The series serves as a reboot of the original 1993 series which ran for 5 seasons on Fox. Many of the main voice cast returned for the revival, along with original executive producer Steven Speilberg (Jurassic Park) and songwriter Randy Rogel (Wakko’s Wish).
