Okafor was waived by Atlanta on Monday, Sarah K. Spencer of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Okafor landed a non-guaranteed contract with the Hawks in mid-September but won't remain with the club to begin the regular season. The 25-year-old averaged 5.4 points and 2.4 rebounds in 12.9 minutes per game across 27 appearances with the Pistons last year.
