Fury defended his World Boxing Council heavyweight championship. He won two of the three fights with Wilder, with the other ending in a draw.

After the fight, Fury attempted to make amends with Wilder following allegations from Wilder's camp that Fury cheated following their second fight, with Fury joking about the situation prior to Saturday.

"I thought we fought it all out there," Fury said Saturday. "And all the allegations that they made towards me, throughout the buildup to this fight. We fought like two warriors in there. I went to shake his hand and say well done, and he said, 'No, I don't respect you.' He's acted like a sore loser in boxing. I'm sure he's not the first one, and he won't be the last one."
