Diogo Jota faces a race against time to be fit for Liverpool's Premier League match against Watford on Saturday after picking up a muscle injury on international duty.

Jurgen Klopp will be hoping that the forward recovers in time and that the minor groin problem Curtis Jones picked up whilst training for England under 21s is also fully healed.

Training Ground Injuries

There were no signs of any injury problems when either player left after the Manchester City draw to join up with their countries.

It has been reported however that Jones is nursing a groin injury and Jota also has a muscle injury, both picked up in training.

The England man has been named on the bench to play Andorra under 21s this evening which may be a positive sign he has returned to fitness.

Returns For Trent and Thiago?

Jurgen Klopp will also be sweating on the fitness of both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Thiago who were both injured before the international break.

Liverpool's injury issues are compounded further by the fact that both Alisson Becker and Fabinho are playing for Brazil during the early hours of Friday morning and therefore will miss out.

Harvey Elliott remains a long term absentee after dislocating his ankle at Elland Road in September.

Watford

The official Watford website is reporting that they also have some injury issues of their own with Joshua King, Francisco Sierralta and Christian Kabasele all injured.

King is the most likely of the three to be fit but only has another four days to prove he is match ready.

LFCTR Verdict

The fitness of Alexander-Arnold and Thiago will be key for Liverpool as they try to line up as strong as possible.

The Reds will be aiming to get back to winning ways at Vicarage Road after two successive draws in the Premier League.

It sounds like Jones and Jota only have minor issues so Klopp will be keen for some positive news to confirm this over the next 24-48 hours.
