‘I don’t get a ring for that’: TA unmoved by playoff records originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago
From a personal standpoint, this White Sox playoff run has been record-setting for shortstop Tim Anderson.
The White Sox’ 12-6 win against the Astros in Game 3 of the American League Division Series was only the sixth playoff game of Anderson’s career, and he already owns the record for the most hits (16) in any six-game span in MLB postseason history.

Even entering the game Sunday, Anderson already sported a notable postseason record: The most hits (13) in by a player in his first five MLB playoff games. Presented with that fact before Game 3, Anderson shrugged.
“I don't get a ring for that,” he said. “So, it doesn't really do anything for me.”
Then, he went 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI to help his team stave off elimination and push the best-of-five ALDS to a Game 4.
“These are the moments you want to be in,” Anderson said. “You work so hard throughout the offseason and throughout the course of the season to get to these moments, so why get nervous when you get here?”
Sunday was Anderson’s fifth career three-hit postseason game. Only 24 players in postseason history have more, regardless of playoff appearances.
Anderson not only scored the first run of the game but also started a fourth-inning rally that reclaimed the White Sox’ lead and ended up being the difference in the game.
“I want to be in those (clutch) moments,” Anderson said Sunday afternoon. “The camera is on. People are here to watch you. It is The Show, so you just try to go out and give people a show.”
