In the above sneak peek of the Season 19 premiere, Christian Siriano, Nina Garcia, Brandon Maxwell, and Elaine Welteroth officially welcome 16 new designers to Project Runway. And where better to kick things off than at an iconic New York City landmark like Lincoln Center?

Mimi Lien's art installation, "The Green," at Lincoln Center is not only "a celebration of the revival of New York City," as Nina puts it in the clip, but it also serves as the perfect backdrop to introduce the very first challenge of Project Runway Season 19, which is all about color. "This bold, green landscape is symbolic of the power of color to inspire, to uplift, and to celebrate this new beginning," Elaine shares, later adding that color is "the first thing that attracts your eye, it exudes emotion, and it tells your customer who you are."

Brandon also encourages the designers to not hold anything back in the competition. "So, let me tell you: Now is the time for bold, in-your-face color," he says.

So, how will the designers be put to the test first? Check out the above video to get all the colorful details on Season 19's first challenge, which includes more than one surprising twist.
