2022 four-star cornerback recruit Trequon Fegans announced on Monday afternoon on Twitter that he has decommitted from the University of Miami.

Fegans was one of three 2022 cornerbacks verbally committed to the Miami Hurricanes along with Chris Graves and Khamauri Rogers. Fegans is the No.85 ranked player in the country according to the 247Sports.com composite rankings and is the No.11 ranked cornerback.

The decommitment is likely related to Miami’s 2-3 start during the 2021 season. The Hurricanes are down to just eight prospects verbally committed in the class of 2022 and that class is now ranked No.59 overall according to 247Sports.com.

This is the second item of bad news for Hurricane fans today as it was reported this morning that D’Eriq King will miss the remainder of the season with a shoulder injury.

Manny Diaz and the Hurricanes return to the field on Saturday in Chapel Hill to face North Carolina at 3:30 p.m.
