Second-ranking House Republican Scalise continues to refute Presidential election result

Appearing on Fox News on Sunday, House Minority Whip Steve Scalise of Louisiana thrice avoided questions from interviewer Chris Wallace regarding the 2020 Presidential election – specifically whether or not he believes Joe Biden was legitimately elected or if the election was “stolen” from incumbent Donald Trump.

"I've been very clear from the beginning," Scalise answered the first time Wallace asked the question. "If you look at a number of states, they didn't follow their state-passed laws that govern the election for president. That is what the United States Constitution says. They don't say that the states determine what the rules are, they say the state legislatures determine the rules."

However, the argument Scalise is putting forth was already shot down by the Supreme Court during the election’s contentious aftermath.

And yet Scalise doubled- and tripled-down on the answer during subsequent queries by Wallace, vaguely avoiding the outright assertion of a stolen election but also refusing to say that Biden was actually elected President, even nearly a year after the election.
