The Portland Trail Blazers have added ESPN’s Neil Everett to their television broadcast team, the franchise announced Monday.
Everett will be the studio host for pregame, halftime and post-game segments for most Blazers road games.
The Blazers host Sacramento Monday night at the Moda Center in the second of four preseason games. Portland’s games are being carried by Root Sports.
Everett, who graduated from Oregon after transferring from Willamette University, joined ESPN in 2000 as an anchor for ESPNEWS.
“To have someone with Neil’s knowledge and experience join the Trail Blazers will take our television broadcast to the next level,” said Chris McGowan, president and CEO of the Trail Blazers and Rose Quarter in a prepared statement. “His personal ties to the Pacific Northwest paired with his expertise will complement the great talent we have on our broadcast team.”
Said Everett: “It’s a delight to be able to join the great broadcast crew of my hometown team. I look forward to returning to the Pacific Northwest and working hard to provide the best fans in the league in Rip City a great television broadcast.”
The Blazers studio broadcast crew for home games will be Brooke Olzendam along with Michael Holton. Olzendam will also do sideline reporting during games. For road games, Olzendam will travel with the team to do sideline reporting while Everett fills in as host during studio broadcasts with Orlando Williams.
