Shield's will give away FREE pizza to fans in metro Detroit … if the Lions win a game

(WWJ) A single win by the Detroit Lions will bring not only some relief for frustrated football fans ... but dinner as well.

Management at Shields' Pizza said the chain will give away a free, small pizza with one topping to fans of the Lions, as well as to fans of their pizza, after the struggling NFL team wins its first of the season.

If that happens, anyway.

The offer will be available on the Tuesday evening following the Lions' victory, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., for dine-in customers at Shield's three restaurants — in Southfield, Troy and Detroit. A dine-in party with three or more people free large pizza with one topping, instead of a small.

The Lions are currently 0 and 5 this season, but some are hanging on to hope.

“The team has had some tough breaks this season, but we always support our local sports teams and really think they can turn things around,” says Paul Andoni of Shield’s. “We want to show our loyalty by hosting a free pizza party to celebrate their first victory!”

The first chance for fans to possibly cash in on that free pizza deal comes up after this Sunday, when the Lions will tangle with the Cincinnati Bengals at Ford Field. The Bengals are 3 and 2, and are coming off an overtime loss to the Green Bay Packers yesterday.
