“The Young Assassin” took some major damage in his most recent fight.

Bare-knuckle boxer and longtime MMA veteran Melvin Guillard shared images to social media this past weekend of the ugly facial injury he suffered in a knockout loss to fellow combat sports lifer Joe Riggs at a BKFC event in Billings, Mont., on Saturday. According to Guillard, 38, the fight left him with “five fractures in my orbital” that required surgery.

The surgery apparently took place on Sunday and Guillard later shared another post of himself after leaving the emergency room.

Guillard has failed to find success in the cage or in the ring in recent years. The former UFC lightweight contender is winless in his past 10 MMA contests and has lost four straight bare-knuckle boxing bouts. His last win came against Leighton Brady in November 2017 and his last MMA win came against Gesias Cavalcante at a World Series of Fighting event in July 2014.
