The Golden State Warriors came into the NBA offseason looking to make a splash move. They had plenty of assets to upgrade their roster in a big way to help turn them into contenders once again.
Golden State has missed the postseason two straight seasons after advancing to the NBA Finals five straight years. Klay Thompson suffering a torn ACL and then rupturing his Achilles is a big reason for that, as he has not played in an NBA game since Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors.
The Warriors are hopeful that he can return to form this season and help get the team back on track. But, the team could certainly use some help, especially on the wing, to truly elevate them back to the level of contenders they are used to being.
Trading Andrew Wiggins could be their key to doing that. Wiggins was part of numerous trade rumors throughout the summer as his contract would have been used to help match salaries in trades.
