Home and Away's network Channel Seven has responded following actress Sam Frost's recent social media post, in which she revealed that she remains unvaccinated against coronavirus.

The broadcaster confirmed that the Jasmine Delaney star continues to follow all on-set safety protocols, but it "strongly encourages" its employees to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

Frost was recently criticised by many followers after sharing a video calling for "compassion" and "empathy" for those who have chosen not to have the jab. She has since deleted her Instagram account following the online backlash.

In a statement (via Daily Mail Australia), a Channel Seven spokesperson said: "Seven strongly encourages vaccination for all our people and all Seven productions strictly adhere to the public health COVID-19 safe protocols.

"All Home and Away cast and crew also undertake COVID-19 testing three times a week in addition to other preventative measures. Sam Frost continues to work on Home and Away and follows the safety protocols in place."

In the original video posted to her Instagram page, Frost didn't divulge why she hasn't been vaccinated and shared her feeling that she could "get in trouble" for coming out publicly as unvaccinated.

She added: "It's a really hard time to be in society right now and you feel like you are less of a human and you feel like people judge you.

"And you're too scared to talk about your opinion or your feelings and part of you wants to go, 'Well it's none of your damn business why I'm not! And there's good reasons why I'm not and I don't want you to judge me.'"

Earlier this year, Frost spoke about how she suffers from feelings of anxiety and depression but has got better at identifying when she needs additional help.

"It is always up and down," she explained. "I think a lot of people who struggle with their mental health, depression or anxiety will understand you have your good days and bad days."

She co-founded Believe By Sam Frost, an organisation that provides support for young girls to help them navigate depression, anxiety, toxic relationships, and social media.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 (Australia). Selected classic episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video in the UK.
