Gemma Collins donates bras to charity after feeling ‘sick’ over bill at Salt Bae restaurant

Gemma Collins has decided to donate her bras to charity after her costly visit to Salt Bae’s new London restaurant.

Last week, the former TOWIE star and her boyfriend Rami Hawash visited the newly-opened Nusr-Et restaurant in Knightsbridge. But, the star admitted she felt “sick” and “shocked” after ordering a £1,450 steak.

Now, to make up for her overspending, she has decided to “give back to the universe” by donating “four bags” of bras for charity.

Speaking on an episode of The Gemma Collins Podcast, she explained: “But I started to feel really bad the next day because I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, there’s people starving in the world’.

“I just started feeling really bad about it all, so I was like, ‘Right, what can I do?’”

Collins said that it started to feel “a bit much” so a friend suggested that she donate bras to raise money for cancer charities and to donate to people in poorer countries who don’t have them.

Collins continued: “It really started playing on my mind, so I instantly went and I started to clear out every single bra that I owned.

“Literally, I sent four bags of really nice bras to the charity. So I feel like I’ve done my thing.”

The 40-year-old reality star continued saying that despite the guilt, she would have spent money to meet him regardless.

Collins said: “I would have paid that to meet him anyway, because I love him and it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity.”

Nusret Gökçe, who goes by the name Salt Bae, became a meme and internet sensation four years ago when a video of him flamboyantly seasoning a piece of meat with salt went viral.

The Turkish restauranteur now owns a chain of luxury steakhouses called Nusr-Et, with locations across the world including in Dubai, Miami, Abu-Dhabi, New York and Instabul.

Salt Bae’s newest restaurant in the UK capital has caused a social media stir for its rather expensive prices, as it was revealed the restaurant charges £11 for Red Bull and sells gold-leaf covered steaks for hundreds of pounds.

A receipt from the restaurant totalling over £1,800 was posted online and many were shocked by the price tag.

The internet was also divided by a viral TikTok which showed a diner in one of his restaurants being treated to a performance by Salt Bae who cooked steak in front of them on a plate of boiling hot butter – the meal reportedly cost £180.
