I guess almost all of you have heard that Real Madrid is interested in bringing Edinson Cavani of Manchester United on loan in the Spanish capital in the upcoming January transfer window. Yes, you have heard it right. Cavani’s arrival is very much on the table.

The idea came up to Real Madrid’s mind as Cavani’s frustration grew due to the lack of minutes following Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival at Old Trafford. What I think is the reason behind the interest is a lack of trust in Luka Jovic.

But is it practical to plot a move for the Uruguayan beast? I don’t think so, and here’s why.

1. Luka Jovic is making an impact

If you have seen Luka Jovic in the last few games, you would agree with me. Yes, the young Serbian is trying his best to make a name for himself. In the last few games, Carlo Ancelotti has given Jovic some chances. Chances as in minutes as a substitute.

Of course, Jovic cannot start, not until Karim Benzema is available. Why? Benzema is a world-class striker (and is now a Ballon d’Or candidate) and he is always hungry for games and goals. But if you watch the last few games in which Jovic comes on as a substitute to play alongside Benzema, you would see a goal or two in all those games.

Yes, the two are combining very well together. As both of them are aerial threats to the opposition and are physically strong with a greater ability to finish in front of goal, the two have together troubled every backline this season.
