WASHINGTON (SBG) - President Joe Biden's approval rating has hit a new low, at just 38% approving of his job performance and 53% disapproving according to a Quinnipiac poll.
Political insider Armstrong Williams says Susan Rice is calling the shots and making decisions in the White House.
“I don't think she gets enough attention. She's running his domestic policy agenda," said Williams to The National Desk’s Jan Jeffcoat. "Biden is clearly aging. There's a clear perception amongst his closest friends that there are cognitive issues which the media can't talk about.”
Williams says issues regarding the Afghanistan withdrawal, domestic policies, and the debt ceiling “reflect the chaos in his administration.”
Former President Donald Trump also had low approval numbers around his nine-month mark, but Williams claims that Biden is in a worse place at this point in his presidency.
“You cannot hide the fact of what you saw with the Haitians, with the 13 marines who were killed, and they claim that they retaliated with ISIS-K and innocents died. You can clearly see that he doesn’t have influence on the debt ceiling with progressives and moderates in his party,” said Williams.
With midterm elections on the horizon, many are keeping a watchful eye to see if President Trump will run again in 2024. During a rally this weekend in Iowa, Trump shared an update on his well-known slogan.
“It was supposed to be ‘Keep America Great.’ But America is not great right now so we're using the same slogan, ‘Make America Great Again,’” said Trump. “‘Make America Great Again, Again.’ Because we did it already.”
“As much good as the former president is credited for, one thing he has not done a very good job of is empowering other candidates in the Republican Party and other leaders in the Republican Party to achieve their goals, and also give Americans an alternative,” said Williams. “It would be great for the president to just remove himself from the Senate stage and allow others to enter for the benefit of the party.”
