Google Reportedly Planning A ‘Pixel Pass’ Subscription Bundle

As we inch closer towards the release of the Pixel 6, a new leak has uncovered Google’s plans for the device and its services. Reputed Twitter news source M. Brandon Lee has uncovered a document that reveals the existence of a service known as “Pixel Pass.”

This appears to be an all-inclusive bundle similar to the Apple One subscription for iOS and Mac users. Under Pixel Pass, one monthly fee would reportedly include a Pixel 6 with an extended warranty, plus Google One, Play Pass, and YouTube Premium and Music. Users will also have the option to tie this with Google Fi. However, the company will also offer a variant with other carrier options.

Pixel Pass could be Google’s variant of Apple One

The leak doesn’t specify how much the Pixel Pass subscription will cost. But we expect it to be competitively priced to strike a chord with new and existing Pixel owners. The document accessed by Lee suggests U.S. exclusivity, although this could change in the future. As the name suggests, this all-inclusive pass will only be available to Pixel users.

Google wants to ensure its customers don’t switch platforms or phones. It also has the advantage of bundling some of its services to users who wouldn’t otherwise get them. For the users, paying for subscriptions separately ends up costing more. This, in turn, leads them to check out bundled options.

In addition to information about the Pixel Pass, the same source also uncovered the EU pricing for the upcoming Pixel flagships. The Pixel 6 could cost €649 in the region, while the Pixel 6 Pro will reportedly cost €899. This indicates that the U.S. pricing for the Pro variant will likely exceed $1,000.

Google will formally unveil the two flagships on the 19th of October. But there isn’t a lot of mystery around the devices given that Google has already revealed them in some form or the other. For example, the Google Store homepage has a fair amount of info on the phones, while the company has also posted billboards for the two phones.

We also know what colors the two phones will be sold in, thanks to the source mentioned above. The Pixel 6 will be available in Kinda Coral, Sorta Seafoam, and Stormy Black, while the Pixel 6 Pro variant will have Sorta Sunny, Cloudy White, and Stormy Black variants.
