Hundreds of Southwest Airlines flights are being cancelled or delayed due to air traffic control issues and disruptive weather.


Southwest, headquartered in Dallas, says it has cancelled 28% of its flights and the delays are compounded by unexpected air traffic control issues and bad weather at Florida airports starting on Friday.
Senator Ted Cruz says COVID vaccine mandates and President Biden’s policies are causing Southwest Airlines to cancel flights tweeting “Suddenly we’re short on pilots and air traffic controllers.”


Call ahead to your airline before heading to the airport to make sure your fight is on time and not cancelled.
One Southwest flight was canceled on Monday morning at Palm Beach International Airport.
Over the weekend, a total of 17 flights were canceled Sunday at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. At Miami International Airport, more than a dozen flights were canceled

Meanwhile, a semi crashed into the pedestrian bridge at PBIA Sunday night blocking some of the arrival lanes. A sign on the overhead crosswalk states that it only has a 13-foot clearance. No one was injured.
