Timothée Chalamet has donned the velvet jacket and top hat for upcoming Charlie and the Chocolate Factory prequel movie Wonka.
The Oscar-nominated actor gifted his social media followers their first glance at him on set as Willy Wonka yesterday (October 10), and we're happy to report that he carries the character extremely well.
Referencing a line from the 1971 film adaptation of the classic children's novel, where Wonka was played by Gene Wilder, Chalamet wrote alongside the first look on Instagram: "The suspense is terrible, I hope it will last..."

Based on characters created by Roald Dahl, this one chronicles the early years of the eccentric chocolatier and is set to include musical numbers written by The Divine Comedy's Neil Hannon.
Paddington 2's Paul King will direct the film, which he has co-written alongside Simon Farnaby, while the cast also includes big names like Rowan Atkinson, Keegan-Michael Key, Sally Hawkins, Olivia Colman and Matt Lucas.
Wonka is currently due to be released on March 17, 2023.

As we patiently await Wonka's release, Chalamet has another mouthwatering project set for cinemas later this month in Dune, where he plays Paul Atreides for filmmaker Denis Villeneuve.
In Digital Spy's three-star review, we wrote: "While it might not be an action-heavy offering, the set pieces don't disappoint when Villeneuve unleashes them, such as a dramatic sandworm attack and an explosive nighttime assault. There's political intrigue and an emotional weight to proceedings that mean they're not just empty thrills."
Dune is released in UK cinemas on October 21 and in US cinemas on October 22. It will also be available to watch on HBO Max in the US from the same day.
