The Washington State Democrats’ Chair, Tina Podlodowski, voted for former President Donald Trump, selling out the very Democrats she says she represents.

I wasn’t at the Seahawks game last week, but I hear she tried to attend in a bedazzled MAGA hat. She’s that big of a fan. Some in the crowd were unhappy, and she later abandoned the game to join a group of pro-life counter-protesters at this weekend’s abortion rights rally.

I’m not actually certain any of the preceding claims are true (I mean, they could be, I guess). Luckily, Podlodowski shouldn’t mind. She seems to think lying about voting history is an acceptable strategy. She’s doing it to a Seattle city attorney candidate.

Tina Podlodowski keeps lying about Ann Davison

As the race for Seattle city attorney heats up, the Washington Democrat party and other Democrat groups are embracing abolitionist Nicole Thomas-Kennedy.

Thomas-Kennedy is an extremist who doesn’t merely want to abolish the office she’s running for. She believes “property crime is a moral imperative,” cheers on arson, and believes cops are Nazis. While more mainstream Democrats like former Governors Christine Gregoire and Gary Locke have endorsed Thomas-Kennedy’s moderate challenger, Ann Davison, party activists have embraced anarchy and abolition.

Podlodowski loathes Republicans and is a stubborn ideologue. So she embraces Thomas-Kennedy and attacks Davison. Fair enough: Podlodowski certainly isn’t the only recalcitrant activist blinded by a seething hatred of her political opponents. There are some Republicans who do the same thing to Democrats.

But Podlodowski is so desperate to support the candidate who says she won’t prosecute crimes that the Washington Democrats’ chair is flat out lying about Davison. She keeps claiming Davison voted for former President Donald Trump.

But Davison never voted for Trump.

None of Podlodowski’s claims are true

Podlodowski repeatedly claims Davison is a “Trump Republican” who “chose, at the height of Trump’s vileness, to express her support for, and embrace, his so-called ‘values.'” By Seattle standards, that would make Davison unfit for office. The “Trump Republican” moniker is amplified by socialist and progressive activists pushing the very ideology on policing and criminal justice that caused Seattle’s record violent crime.

But none of the claims are true.

Davison is a moderate Republican who caucused and voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016. She voted for Joe Biden in 2020. She never embraced Trump; quite literally the opposite.

And while Davison condemned the violence on Jan. 6, Podlodowski and the activist base of Washington Democrats (particularly in King County) either fell silent during a literal, armed insurrection in Seattle that created a deadly autonomous zone — or they flatly embraced and endorsed it.

An ironic attack on a moderate

The absurd claim that Davison is a “Trump Republican” appears to come out of her decision to become a Dan Evans Republican during the Trump presidency.

But as Davison made clear at the time, it wasn’t due to Trump; it was due to the extremist positions that local Democrats embraced. Area Democrats are no longer traditional Democrats like Davison. They’re the type of extremists that embrace abolition.

Davison didn’t feel like she belonged to a party that embraces violence against cops or no jail for prolific offenders.

There’s some irony that Podlodowski is attacking a moderate Republican as some extremist when she’s backing a candidate who is an actual extremist.

Podlodowski lies

I understand that Podlodowski is dangerously obsessed with Trump, but it’s not an excuse to keep lying about Davison. I can’t, however, say that I’m shocked. Podlodowski shamelessly lies.

Since her humiliating, high-profile loss to Secretary of State Kim Wyman, the Washington Democrats’ chair has trafficked in lies. She keeps trying to attack Wyman, only to fall flat.

In a series of tweets, Podlodowski claimed that Wyman “is calling on voters not to vote in the WA Presidential Primary, due to the requirement to sign a partisan declaration.” And in typical fashion, she tried to tie Wyman to Trump. Podlodowski argues Wyman “is simply hiding from her affiliation with Trump, is terrified of losing her seat to Democrat Gael Tarleton, and will do anything to mask her true colors. Even by not voting and urging others not to vote.”

Except this didn’t happen.

Wyman voted in the primary but didn’t check the party affiliation box out of protest. Like many others, she doesn’t believe you should need to publicly declare a party affiliation in a primary. And when there is only one candidate on a ballot, party designation on the outside of a ballot envelope effectively turns a private vote into a public one.

Wyman never encouraged anyone to follow her position and has been on a non-stop mission to encouraged as many people to vote as possible. During the interview Podlodowski used to smear Wyman, the secretary of state literally encouraged people to vote and drop off their ballots at county election offices or drop boxes. She even tried to assuage voters concerned that a postman who sees the party affiliation may “lose” the ballots.

And when Podlodowski isn’t shamelessly lying to smear political opponents, she traffics in anti-Semitism.

Lying Podlodowski proves Davison’s point

Davison left the party after constant bullying from area Democrat (and Socialist) extremists. She called them out, at the time, for not focusing on any policy discussions, but instead trolling and harassing. Podlodowski and her activist army show no interest in stopping the tactic.

You see Podlodowski focusing on attacking Davison and not her ideas because she doesn’t want to go on record supporting Thomas-Kennedy’s fringe beliefs. She knows that it could lead Democrats to realize how far the party has drifted towards socialism and abolition.

Podlodowski needs Washington Democrats to think she’s one of them, or she’ll have more examples like Gregoire and Locke to deal with. She’d rather quietly elect extremists to transform government institutions and policy through a socialist and abolitionist agenda.

But the biggest problem Podlodowski keeps facing is that she’s as good at lying as she is at running for statewide office: That is, remarkably incompetent. Her lies are transparent, and it’s becoming clear how extreme the Democrat party of Washington has come.
