PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas | The Grambling State women's soccer team couldn't fend off a second half rally by Prairie View A&M, falling 2-1 on Sunday afternoon in a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) game at the PVAMU Soccer Complex. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the 43rd minute, Ariyanna Buggs put the Lady Tigers ahead, 1-0, with her first goal of the season off an assist from Miranda Urbizu.
- Following a hand ball violation on GSU (2-7-2 overall, 2-1-1 SWAC), Prairie View's D'Sanye Nugent knotted the game up at 1-1 in the 57th minute with a free kick from just outside the penalty area. 
- Another hand ball violation was called against the Lady Tigers in 61st minute, this time inside the penalty area, setting up a PVA&M (8-2-2, 6-0-0) penalty kick. GSU goalkeeper Quinlan Warren made a remarkable save, keeping the score tied at 1-1.
- In the 65th minute, the Panthers took a 2-1 lead on a goal from Jojo Bernal.
- The Lady Tigers missed a potential equalizing goal in the 78th minute as Imogen Fowler's shot sailed just above the crossbar. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Quinlan Warren played all 90 minutes in goal for the Lady Tigers, racking up nine saves and surrendering two goals
- Miranda Urbizu registered her second assist 
- Both team recorded 13 shots, with PVAMU putting 11 on target and GSU firing eight on goal
- The teams were also even on corner kick opportunities with three each
- There were 18 total fouls called

UP NEXT
Grambling State returns home to take on Alabama State on Friday in a SWAC contest. The match is slated for a 3 p.m. start at the GSU Soccer Complex.
