INGLEWOOD, Calif. - Baker Mayfield had his second 300-yard passing game of the season on Sunday, and just like his first one, the Browns lost.
Mayfield finished 23-of-32 passing for 305 yards and two touchdowns, along with a passer rating of 122.5, but the Chargers outlasted the Browns, 47-42. He threw for 321 yards the Week 1 loss to the Chiefs.
Mayfield’s yardage total got a nice boost from David Njoku, who ran the final 50 yards of a 71-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter. Mayfield also connected with Donovan Peoples-Jones on a 42-yard pass play.
Despite starting left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. being ruled out due to injury before the game and starting right tackle Jack Conklin leaving with injury during the game, Mayfield was sacked only once.
Mayfield started the game completing his first nine passes before a fourth-down drop by Odell Beckham Jr.
