The Cincinnati Bengals lost a close game to the Green Bay Packers in their Week 5 showdown, but it is the least of their worries now after Joe Burrow was taken to the hospital.

According to the Bengals' update, Burrow had to be checked for a possible throat contusion. The 24-year-old quarterback went down midway through the second quarter of the contest after taking a hard hit on a running play.

To recall, Joe Burrow slammed his hard poorly following the hit from Packers safety Darnell Savage Jr. He briefly lied on the field before getting up on his own power and heading to the blue medical tent on the sidelines for further evaluation.

He was able to return to the Bengals moments later, finishing the contest with two touchdowns and two interceptions in the narrow 25-22 loss to the Packers. Burrow also completed 26 of his 38 passes for 281 yards.

While it looked like Burrow was fine when he returned to the game, his throat contusion is definitely concerning. Bengals fans will also be hoping that there are no other underlying issues after his scary hit, especially since it was his head that slammed on the field.

The Bengals are now 3-2 on the season following the loss to Aaron Rodgers and Co. They will be playing the Detroit Lions next, and hopefully, Burrow will be healthy enough to join the squad and lead the team back to the winning column.
