On this World Mental Health Day, a day to raise awareness, former MLB star Darryl Strawberry shared his personal struggles at a church in North Brunswick.

Congregants at Grace Church of North Brunswick heard the personal testimony of the former baseball star, who shared his personal experience about God turning his mess into a message. He battled addiction, as well as depression and bipolar disorder.

Now, the ordained minister shares his message of recovery, addressing mental health and other struggles through a hopeful message.

"I think so many people try to overcome the lessons that we have to learn through life, and they don't allow God to be the big centerpiece of their life and when you allow him to be the big centerpiece of your life, everything changes for the good," said Strawberry.
