After a gut-wrenching loss to the Packers in overtime, Cincinnati Bengals fans got concerning news, as it was reported that Joe Burrow was taken to the hospital for a possible throat contusion.

Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com was the first to report the news.

Burrow had a rough hit in the second quarter of action but returned to action and played for the rest of the game. No one had any idea that anything was wrong with Burrow but according to Kelsey Conway, Burrow had trouble speaking after the game.

Joe Burrow has been taken to the hospital with a throat contusion.

Ja’Marr Chase spoke to the media following the game and said that Burrow didn’t have any problems speaking.

Maybe this means that this is simply a precautionary thing for the Bengals signal-caller and the team wants to be on the safe side. Still, it’s always alarming when you see the news of any player being taken to the hospital. Hopefully, Burrow is doing okay and will be good to go moving forward.

Burrow was very good in the overtime loss to Green Bay, throwing for 281 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions while dashing for another 11 yards. Running got him into some iffy situations though, as I noted the play that happened earlier. Burrow attempted to run for a first down on that play and didn’t slide, which made for a near-silent Paul Brown Stadium at that moment.
